Landgang 2010

May until 6 June 2010
SCHENGEN, LUXEMBOURG, METZ, TRIER & SAARBRÜCKEN

The 25th anniversary of the Schengen Agreements gave the impulse for the conception of the Tour of Melody. The performance group Landgang connected the four Quattropole cities (Trier, Metz, Saarbrücken and Luxembourg) musically on a river trip from Schengen.
With references back to the Fluxus movement, the concept of social sculpture by Joseph Beuys and the performance artist Marina Abramovic, 48 students from five countries activated a collective body memory. With their performances in Schengen, Luxembourg, Metz, Trier and Saarbrücken, they created impressive, emotionally powerful image and sound figurations in which memories of our most elementary common roots were evoked.

Final performance: European Academy of Arts, Trier
Participants: 48 students from Germany, Poland, France, Luxembourg, Mexico as well as 6 educators and artists
